Primary Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain comprehensive governance standards for documentation of software architecture, design decisions, and technical standards.

  • Ensure documentation for software systems is accurate, up-to-date, centralized, and accessible to development teams and stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to capture essential information used to form documentation structures and governance.

  • Work with internal global content management team to maintain translation documentation.

  • Define and enforce standards for file and folder naming conventions and descriptions.

  • Create and uphold standard policies for document creation, archiving, and deletion.

  • Conduct regular audits of the system for consistency, and to ensure documentation complies with governance and global master standards.

  • Maintain a glossary of terms to ensure consistent language and branding across the software organization and respective applications/software products.

  • Ensure high copy standards in all written material and application components, including copyediting for grammatical and spelling accuracy and employing UX best practices.

  • Identify and establish appropriate channels for disseminating documentation (e.g., wikis, SharePoint, version control systems/release documentation, etc.).

  • Conduct regular learning sessions to educate and inform content management strategies and best practices.  

  • Provide technical guidance to development teams regarding documentation practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Business Analyst, Customer & User Experience, Computer Science, or related field is preferred.

  • 5 years of related experience is required.

  • Demonstratable experience with the implementation and governance of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) within a software product

  • Experience in technical writing and content architecture is preferred.

  • Prior experience in software development or IT environment, with demonstrated understanding of software development methodologies and architecture principles.

  • Experienced managing collaboration platforms.

  • Demonstrated experience with design tools (Figma, Storybook, etc.) and content management systems.

  • Experience working in a collaborative Agile environment with multiple teams.
